4th of July Rae Dunn Ice Cream Social
Happy Summer y’all! We are into the full blown 90 degree days here in Georgia, which means we all need a little cold treat to cool down right? My husband was in Charlotte for a business trip a few weeks ago and I asked him if he drove past a TJ Maxx or Homegoods to stop and see if they had any Rae Dunn that I didn’t already have. So of course he sends me loads of pics from TJ Maxx. As soon as I saw all the 4th of July themed items I asked him to grab a cart and load it up! I think he secretly likes the “hunt” as well. After I had unpacked my items that he so kindly purchased for me, I immediately got inspired to shoot a little 4th of July Rae Dunn “Ice Cream Social”! I think it was the adorable bowls that inspired me the most to do this fun shoot! I just pictured them with ice cream and treats. This past week I’ve been asking him if he’s ready for my “Ice Cream Social” to which he replied, “I haven’t heard the term “ice cream social” since I was in the 4th grade”. What can I say, I’m a little cheesy like that!
Here’s a little close up of these adorable Rae Dunn 4th of July items. I especially love the pitcher.
I created a little height to the table with this amazing pedestal tray I purchased from one of my Instagram Pals, Alysha, at The Mountain Blue Bird Co. She is so sweet and talented! I then added a very fitting book, History of a Free People, to break up the white and to add in a little red. I filled my Rae Dunn pitcher with some greenery from IKEA and stuck in two small flags.
I had picked up these cute red and white stripe napkins in the Dollar Spot at Target a few years ago and thought they would look cute in this setup. I rolled them up for different look and placed a spoon on top.
This chip and dip tray from Nora Fleming is one of my favorite pieces for entertaining because you can switch out the mini ornaments with the different seasons. She has so many different ornaments to choose from it’s insane. I thought it coordinated well with the Rae Dunn pieces as well. If you are looking for a great wedding shower gift this would be it! It’s unique and you can always give that person the little mini’s to add to their collection for future gifts.
I’ve always loved these woven placemats. They give your table some added texture and they really do collect the crumbs really well. I just give mine a shake over the sink and then they are good to go!
The flag banner I believe I picked up from Hobby Lobby, if I’m not mistaken. It has been a few years but I’m pretty sure that’s where I found it. Here is a similar one as well. I think it looks so cute draped across my grandpa’s bench.
I think my favorite part about this fun tablescape is my little Radio Flyer red wagon filled with ice cream cones. I found this cute little wagon at Goodwill one day. It’s such a fun little trinket, and looks even cuter hauling sugar cones.
I found our farmhouse round table off of Letgo before we moved into our house. It used to be just an orange oak color. It was definitely a labor of love, but it finally came out the way that I wanted. You can read all about how I refinished it here.
Our fun little bistro chairs were a find by my husband one night at TJ Maxx, but here are some similar ones in case you are interested.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this little 4th of July themed “Ice Cream Social”. I so wish I could dispense I nice banana split or sundae to y’all via the internet for reading my little blog. How awesome would that be?! Have a wonderful week friends!
Thank you little birdies for flying by my nest!
xoxo,
Robyn 🙂
