Thrift Store Finds
When we bought our house a few years ago my husband Chris and I got a little addicted to going Thrift store shopping on the weekends. We still find ourselves going at least twice a month. You never know what you might walk out with. It’s honestly the only kind of shopping where I enjoy “the hunt”. Clothes shopping ehh…but home decor…sign me up! I decided to share some of our favorite thrift store finds, and what items I keep my eyes peeled for.
These two Broyhill cabinets on either side of our fireplace were a Goodwill find by Chris. I was at work when he sent me a picture of them, and I said yes immediately. I knew they would look amazing repainted with some new hardware. To read more about how I did that you can click here.
One day day I found a whole set of Pottery Barn white dishes. I could not pass them up. They looked brand new! Classic white dishes will never go out of style.
Our shutters were from Goodwill. I repainted them and gave them a glazed aged look. One of them has a missing slat, but that’s what gives them character. Let me know if you’re interested in the details of that painting technique and I’ll be glad to share.
This coffee table was another one of Chris’ finds. We just painted the top in chalk paint and cleaned up the base. I like the mix of metal and painted wood.
Betty the bench on our front porch that I shared about is from Goodwill. To read more about that easy makeover you can click here. I tried out a new paint that I’m now in love with.
One of the items I always search for when I go into a thrift store are vinyl records. A few Christmases ago Chris bought me a Crosley record player, and I’m ever growing my vinyl collection. I’m a bit nostalgic, so the sound of a record playing in the background makes me so happy. There’s nothing like it.
Copper is making its comeback and I’m all for it! I have found a few cool pieces while thrifting. I’m still trying to find a nice way to display them in our home. Here are a few of the pieces on our shelves in the kitchen. I always keep my eyes peeled for new copper treasures. My eye is drawn right to them.
I’m such a sucker for black and white photography. I found this awesome black and white matted photo at Goodwill. I think it gives our farmhouse style home more of a modern feel. I love that it reads McJunkin in the photo as well. 🙂
Both of these Seward trunks were found by Chris as well. He has a great eye for sure which makes him a great shopping buddy! He found them on two separate occasions. I thought they would look cool stacked on top of each other as a side table next to our loveseat. They give a great vintage feel to the space.
I hope you have enjoyed these fun thrift store finds. You can follow me on Instagram for updates on my new finds. Let me know what you look out for while thrifting.
Thank you for flying by my nest little birdies!
Xoxo,
Robyn 🙂
