Coffee Bar Summer Update
It was about time for my little clearance Target cart to get a little makeover! On Saturday night around 9 pm I decided to redo my coffee bar top. My husband was like you’re going to do that now? When I get something in my mind it can be difficult to calm or forget about until it’s done. Anyone else that way? I had some Fusion Paint in Algonquin left over and I thought it would be the perfect color to make all the white accents on top pop! I’m really happy with how it turned out! I think this neutral color coordinates well with our Oyster Bay wall color and it breaks up all the wood tones that were going on before. I hope you enjoy this little Coffee Bar Summer Update!
This is what the top looked like before. When I bought this little cart I stained the cutting board top with a darker stain.
I only added one coat of this paint and let it dry for maybe 30 minutes. This paint does dry fast! I then took some sandpaper to the edges of the table and a little on the top to give it a distressed and weathered look.
I had taken down all the red, white and blue decor from the 4th of July so I decided I wanted to transition to some blue accents until Fall comes around. Gosh I can’t wait for Fall! Light aqua is one of my favorite colors, and I think it’s perfect for Summer time since it reminds me of the water. These Rae Dunn Summer canisters also inspired me to go for a blue theme.
Here’s a link to this Bae Rae Dunn mug. It’s one of my favorites!
The fun aqua gurgle pot on the top shelf is so fun! I think it’s perfect for Summer and I also keep water in it for when I need to refill my Keurig. It’s so funny to hear it gurgle!
The shelf is from Hobby Lobby. I waited until it was 50% off since it’s originally $120 I believe. It’s so much fun to switch out the metal drawers and hang different things from it!
I picked up this fun vintage Hershey’s Cocoa tin at Goodwill. I think it’s a great addition to this blue themed coffee bar. I love mixing the old with new!
My friend Alysha at The Mountain Blue Bird Co made this amazing pedestal tray and I just adore it! The beaded wood garland is from another one of my favorite stores called 13 and Market. They have some really cool finds! I just topped the tray with a book that I aged from Dollar Tree. You can read all about that easy DIY process here.
I get a lot of questions about my gum ball machine. It actually belonged to my grandparents. It was originally a dark blue but I decided to spray paint it silver metallic for a more updated look. I kept the face of it original and didn’t spray paint it. I loved the little acorn and leaf details on the front! I definitely love having some nostalgic vintage pieces in our home. It’s what gives a home character in my opinion. It’s truly a special piece that I will love to pass down one day.
Thank you little birdies for flying by my nest today! I hope y’all have a wonderful day!
xoxo,
Robyn 🙂
