Decorating with Jade-ite Glass
Hey friends and happy March! This is one of my favorite months, mostly because it’s my birthday month I guess. I also love how it starts feeling like Spring here in the South. The daffodils are already in full bloom here in Georgia. So with that feel of Spring just around the corner, I’ve started to dust off my jade-ite pieces. I’ve always had a love for Fire King Jade-ite. It’s such a cheerful color of green especially for this time of year. I have a small collection of Fire King that I’ve been collecting since college. I can’t wait to show you different ways I’ve been decorating with jade-ite glass this season.
A Little History
Just a little background of Fire King Jade-ite for those of you who aren’t familiar with it’s history. Per wikipedia, “The “Jadeite Fire King” brand was first produced by the United States glassware firm Anchor Hocking in the 1940s. Most of Anchor Hocking’s output of Jadeite was between 1945 and 1975. A durable product in a fashionable color, it became the most popular product made by Anchor Hocking.” I found this to be so interesting as well “It is not to be confused with jadite, a green jade- shade of vaseline glass product made in the early 20th century.”
Fire King Jade-ite has been reproduced by numerous manufacturers with the rise of it’s popularity. Anchor Hocking still manufactures it, but they make items that vary from the originals in order to maintain the integrity of the original productions. Below you can see that I’ve used original Fire King Jade-ite dishes along with the Hearth and Hand Collection at Target.
Like I mentioned earlier, Joanna Gaines has designed a whole collection of jade milk glass for her Hearth and Hand Line at Target last year, and has since released some new items for this season as well. I picked up a lot of these items last year and I’ve slowly started to bring them back out for Spring. Target has introduced a new milk glass color this year. It’s a beautiful pink milk glass! I have to restrain myself…it’s so freakin pretty y’all!
As you can see I’ve used jade glass throughout many areas of my house, from the coffee bar, the kitchen, to our breakfast area. It’s such a beautiful pop of color!
My favorite dish to put my banana pudding in is definitely my jade-ite baking dish. Something about the yellow pudding inside the green dish is just so appeasing to me! Not to mention delicious!
Incorporating it with other colors
I love to use jade-ite with pops of yellow for Spring. It’s like a match made in heaven in my opinion. You just can’t help but smile! So if you’re looking to give your neutral space a little subtle pop of color this Spring and Summer I highly recommend using some jade tones. My mom always says that green is God’s color so it goes with everything. 🙂

One to Follow Friday
I’ve recently decided to share a new inspiring Instagram account with you every Friday. I’m all about spreading the love lately, so I’m going to call it “One to Follow Friday”. One of my good friends on Instagram, Pamela @cakebatterfinds , has a collection of Fire-King that literally makes me drool. Y’all definitely need to go check out her feed. I mean, just look at her sink full of Fire-King! Swoon! She is also an incredible baker, so she literally makes me drool when she posts all of her baked goods! Tell Pamela hello for me and be sure to tell her I sent you on over. 🙂
