Guest Bedroom Inspiration

It’s been such a long time since I’ve done a design board for one of my own spaces. With a brain like mine it’s nice to see a an actual visual of the vision in my head, and be able to share it with you guys. Right now we have two twin beds in one of our guest bedrooms, but we figured many adults would not be comfortable sleeping in a twin if they came for a visit. So we are changing the twin beds over to a queen. I hope y’all will enjoy this little design board for my guest bedroom inspiration I created. I hope it gives you some ideas for your own spaces. I’ll be linking all the sources below as well. Let’s get to it shall we!

I wanted to keep the tones very muted and serene in here. I also didn’t want to make it too feminine or masculine. The color of the walls in this bedroom are Agreeable Gray by Sherwin Williams. I highly recommend this color. It’s the perfect “greige” out there in my opinion. Here you can check out some of the other colors in our home.

Just a Few Tips

I love the idea of letting the rug anchor a room, and then letting the furniture come after. So many times I’ve found myself looking for the perfect rug after all the furniture is in. I find it much easier to design around the rug. This one in particular has a variety of color but it’s not too bold. It also looks really nice with warm or cool toned flooring.

When you have a rather neutral base, (meaning the walls and flooring), I think bringing in color with the bedding, rugs and throw pillows is the best way to go. Adding texture and interest with the bedding really ties the whole room together. A good mix of warm and cool tones really helps to balance out the space as well. Also, don’t be afraid to mix metals. Not everything has to be matchy matchy these days.

Keep the room simple and uncluttered. You want your guests to be able to put their belongings down on the surfaces without having to move anything over and out of the way. Kind of think of it like a hotel room. Think of where they will put their bags, and where they will plug in their phone. All the things we do when we stay in a hotel. I even like leaving some water bottles in the room just in case they get thirsty at night.

Afterall, you want your guests to be comfortable and cozy in your home. I recommend sleeping in the room after it’s done to see how it makes you feel. Did you have everything you needed? Were you cozy throughout the night? I mean you don’t want it too cozy…because…well…they might overstay their welcome. LOL!

I hope y’all have a good weekend! Thanks for flying by friends!
