Low Maintenance Porch Plants
I’m keeping it “faux real” on here y’all. If you’re looking for low maintance porch plants..than this is a read for you. I’m terrible at keeping porch plants alive and thriving especially in the Summer. Last year we planted Arborvitae in pots and they didn’t get enough sun, so now they living on our back courtyard. So this year I decided to do something very low maintenance. A little bit of real with a dash of faux. Call in the faux topiaries!
As much as I would love to keep real topiaries on my front porch I just know myself and I know I’ll kill them. I found these faux topiaries on Amazon and decided to give them a shot. They are UV resistant so if your porch is sunny all day this is definitely the one for you.
I wanted to have a pop of color to the base of the topiary so I decided to add in some real impatiens. I am still on the hunt for maidenhair vine to cascade down the pot, but this is a start. Our porch gets morning light for about 3 hours so I thought these would be a perfect option.
Here’s a little rendering of how we set up the pots so that they wouldn’t be top heavy and blow over. With the help of my genius hubby this is what we came up with.
Supplies for Low Maintenance Porch Plants
Lima Brushed Slate Resin Planter
Impatiens
Be sure to drill holes in the bottom of your pot and the actual saucer in the middle of the pot for proper drainage when you’re watering your actual plants.
