It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas….always the first song that comes to mind when I get in the Holiday spirit! I mean we’ve already watched Home Alone a few times already. Speaking of music, let’s get some music going shall we?

Now that we have the Christmas tunes on…

I’m a little behind schedule this year but that is ok. I decided it was time to drag out the tree and get to decorating even if I was still waiting for items to come in. I love having our tree up in time for Thanksgiving. It just makes me feel all festive inside. This year I decided to put our main tree in our front sitting room or “parlor” if you want to be fancy. I took a poll over on Instagram stories a week ago and the vast majority of you thought the window would be the best spot for the tree. I think y’all were dead on! Chris and I went on a walk after dinner last night and it was so fun to see our tree in the window on the way back home.

Color Scheme: Neutral with Pops of Accent Colors

We found our tree at Lowe’s on clearance after the season a few years ago. It was one of the display trees, so if you’re ok with that I highly recommend buying them that way. It was over 70% off! I’ve linked it here for you. I love it because it doesn’t require a lot of fluffing because the brances have memory wire branch tips. It also doesn’t show a lot of sparce areas which is also a plus. I mean..she’s a beast to decorate but I love her!

I wanted to tie in the colors of the room, which for the most part are blush tones and an antique blue. The majority of the ornaments are neutral in color so I brought in the antique blue with the velvet ribbon simply tied on the branches. I have some blush ornaments I want to add that I found at Homegoods. Definitely my fav store for finding Christmas decor.

The easiest way to elevate your ornaments is to add your own ribbon to them instead of just using hooks. It will give it a pop of color and personality. It takes a little extra time but the good part is that the ribbons won’t fall off the ornaments like those hooks tend to do over time.

Top Shops for Ornaments:

A rule I have for myself is that I won’t pay more than $3 per ornament. That’s always my max unless it’s the Swarovski Ornaments I collect. 🙂

Hobby Lobby

Homegoods

Target

(If you don’t see all the ornaments linked it’s because they are either from Hobby Lobby or Homegoods.)

I’ll be doing a full reveal of this room once it’s complete.

Thanks for flying by friend!

xoxo,

Robyn
