Halloween House Tour

It hasn’t been until this year that Chris and I have really properly decorated the outside of our house for Halloween. I know it’s because we have a little now. She absolutely squeals with excitement each time we add something new to the house. And to be quite honest, it’s getting a bit addictive…like I can’t stop! Anyway I thought I would give a proper Halloween House Tour over here on the blog. Once we carve our pumpkins I’ll have to upload a new picture here.

Let’s start with the front of the house. Chris saw an idea on social media to take an old headboard and make it into an hotel or B&B sign for Halloween. So that’s just he did. He hired me out to paint it and put on some of the webbing but the whole design was his idea. I think it turned out so cool! He used black light paint for the wooden letters so it really would stand out at night.

Because our house only has one outdoor outlet it makes it kind of difficult to add a lot of lighting. So he found some battery operated black lights to power the sign.

“The Tea Olive” is the name of our house, so it was only fitting that he named it “The Tea Olive Dead & Dreadfast” for Halloween.

Of course Bone Thugs and Harmony needed to make their appearance, so one of them is standing by the sign and the other is watching from the inside.

Over on our side porch we have a few new additions “Charlotte” the spider and “Spooky” the friendly ghost. I never thought I would be an inflatable parent, but here we are. They are so fun and so easy to set up! These two were under $20 each so you can’t really beat it! Chris found the spider web at Dollar General. The inflatable did not come with one, just as an FYI.

Last year I had the same Jack-o-lanterns set up from Target down the staircase, but I think “Spooky” just makes them look that much cuter! They are no longer sold at Target unfortunately.

Day vs Night

I love that Little Miss Davis loves to re-arrange the pumpkins to her liking. She did this for about 20 minutes the other day, and it was like Chris said, “Is it like looking into a mirror?” She gets it honest from me.

The other year I saw a photo on pinterest where they hung jack-o-lantern pails from the tree and lit them up at night. So naturally we had to do that in our backyard. We have a huge old holly tree in our backyard that I knew would be perfect for that sort of thing. I just used floral wire and a few battery operated tea lights to create the look.

This is probably my favorite of all of the Halloween displays we did this year!

Our girl picked out this cute little Halloween Wizard Gnome we call “Wizzy”. She and her daddy found it at Ollie’s when they were out shopping. It’s perfect for our back porch movie nights! I have to say watching a scary movie outdoors is a lot scarier even when you’ve seen Scream too many times to count. I’ve linked a similar one here.

Well there you have it… our Halloween House tour of 2024! Happy Halloween y’all!
