Magnolia Seed Pod Ornaments
Every year I like to create a unique ornament for our tree. This year I collected some magnolia seed pods to make magnolia seed pod ornaments. I spray painted them with chrome spray paint from Rustoleum and tied velvet ribbon around the stem. I love the organic texture they brought to the tree.
It was such a quick and easy diy that I can use year after year. The spray paint really highlighted their beautiful texture. I also didn’t spend any money on this diy which is even better. I had the spray paint on hand and the spool of velvet ribbon from last year.
I hung them on the dining room flocked tree along with strands of English Ivy I clipped from our property. It lasted for about 2 weeks so I suggest adding it a few days before Christmas. I then topped the tree with a magnolia leaf branch that has been dried for 2 years now. I love the faded green leaves and it kind of resembled a star on the top of the tree. You can also do this easily with pinecones, the only tricky part would be adding a hook or ribbon. They would also be beautiful spray painted gold as well. The possibilities are endless!
Thanks for flying by!
